Nine Dimensions. One Measure of Institutional Excellence.

For public presentation of the IIRC India Rankings 2026, the outcomes of the proprietary 9D Performance Framework are consolidated into three broader performance perspectives - Institutional Strength, Academic Strength, and Governance & Outcomes. These represent an accessible interpretation of the underlying nine dimensions while preserving the depth and integrity of the complete assessment methodology.

Institutional Strength reflects the institution’s strategic direction, structural design and ability to translate academic and institutional plans into effective delivery. It considers the foundations that support sustained performance, including institutional planning, academic systems, quality processes and implementation effectiveness.

Academic Capability represents the depth, contemporary readiness and inclusiveness of the academic environment. It captures the institution’s academic capacity, faculty and learning ecosystem, digital preparedness, advanced academic engagement and its ability to provide an increasingly diverse and future-ready educational experience.

Governance & Outcomes reflects the institution’s ability to convert its capabilities into measurable academic, research, societal and stakeholder outcomes. It encompasses research and discovery, deployment of knowledge and institutional capabilities, graduate and industry outcomes, external engagement, recognition and demonstrated distinction.

Together, these three performance perspectives provide a clear public representation of institutional performance while remaining derived from, and supported by, the more detailed IIRC 9D proprietary assessment methodology. Go beyond the rankings - explore the methodology, the framework, and the vision of IIRC.
